Installation

In order to install VisualSPHysics you have to first install latest version of Blender for your system.

Installation for Microsoft Windows

If you don't have it already, you need to install Visual Studio 2015 redistributable package. You can download it from here. You may need to restart your system afterwards.

Now download the latest version on VisualSPHyiscs for Windows from here.

To install the add-on in Blender you have to follow these steps:

  1. Open Blender and go to File → User Preferences → Add-ons.
  2. Click on “Install from file…” button.
  3. Select the downloaded ZIP file of VisualSPHysics.
  4. Enable the checkbox with “Object: VisualSPHysics Blender Addon”
  5. Click on “Save User Settings” button and close the preferences window.

Installation steps

To install the add-on in Blender you have to follow these steps:

  1. Open Blender and go to File → User Preferences → Add-ons.
  2. Click on “Install from file…” button.
  3. Select the downloaded ZIP file of VisualSPHysics.
  4. Enable the checkbox with “Object: VisualSPHysics Blender Addon”
  5. Click on “Save User Settings” button and close the preferences window.

Installation for GNU/Linux

No binary packages are distributed for GNU/Linux, so you have to download the source code from here and compile it for your system.

Prerequisites

You have to install Blender, CMake, GCC, VTK and Python3 packages in your system.

Compilation steps

  1. unzip VisualSPHysics_source.zip
  2. cd VisualSPHysics
  3. mkdir build
  4. cd build
  5. cmake ..
  6. make
  7. cp libvtkimportermodule.so ../vtkimporter.so
  8. cd ..
  9. zip VisualSPHysics.zip VisualSPHysics.py vtkimporter.so

Now you have you VisualSPHysics.zip add-on file compiled for your system.

Installation steps
